Daytona Ref.116520: Dial turned to pale green

Many forums already talked about the colour of the dial of the Daytona Ref. 116520 which turns from white to cream but today we want to show you the last discovery of Osvaldo Patrizzi who affirms that this dial turns from white into green.

The chemical reaction which turns the dial colour from white to pale green is caused mainly by the thin layer of condensation which forms on its surface – condensation produced by sudden changes of temperature. This thin condensation, exposed to ultraviolet rays for a long period of time, oxidizes the dial and causes colour change. This is an exceptionally rare event which I could only see in very few examples of the reference 116520. In some cases, the colouring, tendentially orientated to green (we don’t yet know if it will remain constant or change progressively), can bring about a mottled rose colour, which is very attractive too.
