Rolex Submariner Ref.116619LB-in depth

This is one of my favourite Rolex Watches:

Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 116619LB in 18ct white gold with blue dial and bezel.

Baselworld 2008 brought about some important new creations from the Rolex Company: a new version of the SUBMARINER DATE model with completely redesigned case.

Produced either in 18 carat yellow gold (ref. 116618) or white gold (ref. 116619), it is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel with Cerachrom insert, whose color is extremely resistant and unalterable. This Oyster Perpetual has obtained the chronometer certificate from COSC (Controle officiel suisse des Chronométres). The movement, caliber 3135, entirely designed and produced by Rolex, is fitted with a Parachrom hairspring, highly resistant to magnetic fields and shocks.

The Oyster bracelet (ref. 97208 in yellow gold and ref. 97209 in white gold) is equipped with the new Glidelock clasp with fine adjustment.

In the official Rolex website we can read:

“Almost as much work goes into creating the Rolex bracelet as the Rolex movement. Its more than 100 moving parts are conceived and crafted simultaneously to ensure perfect homogeneity. Edges are sculpted and smoothed for comfort. A new, redesigned clasp makes for easier opening and closing. The length can be now personally
adjusted, providing an even more perfect fit.”
The white gold timepiece in the photograph has both the dial and the rotating bezel in blue color (reference 116619LB).
